Hope Academy, DR Congo

Education is a powerful tool for empowerment in Africa. The dream of educating the pygmies began in 2011 to help children who could otherwise not access quality education. We have achieved tremendous results over the last nine years.
The children who had never set foot in a classroom could acquire formal education. We began with a handful of children and one teacher. At the inception in 2011, we had no building and only a few kids. The only thing we had was hope. Today, we are excited to see the tremendous growth of the Hope Academy, which has more than 700 students from grades one to twelve. In 2020, we graduated the first class of grade 12.
PIPES is dedicated to long-term relationships with the indigenous peoples of Africa. We invest time and energy into continued education for students seeking to make careers that will sustain themselves and their families throughout their lives.

Growth of Hope Academy

From a humble beginning in 2011, PIPES has supported the indigenous Bambuti tribe. We have built two school in Congo and the population at Mugunga Hope Academy has grown to over 700. Some of our graduates from high school are teachers and others are doing business in Goma city, Congo. Our support has benefited communities that have been neglected for a long time.

A new school on Idjwi Island.

In 2022, we commissioned the construction of a new school in Idjwi Island, DR Congo. The new school now has about 500 students. PIPES International believes every child deserves access to quality education. No child should be left behind. We develop schools and empower teachers to impact the lives of thousands of students.
